Finding substitute teachers no longer a school headache

A year ago, some school districts were loosening standards and raising pay to attract more people to be substitute teachers.

Today, districts report the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction.

As the economy sank, the number and credentials of people applying for the substitute slots, which pay about $60 to $70 a day here, grew.
