In a unanimous vote, the Carroll County Redevelopment Commission at their Friday, May 24 meeting, authorized the Chairman to sign a contract for the design/construction of a shell building at a cost of $4,997,018 in the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Park south of Delphi.

The approval came after a very meticulous discussion about the possibility of a lawsuit over the fact that building plans by one architect had been leaked to another company. In the end Chairman Josh Plue convinced those members present that the best solution would be to hire a totally new plan & design firm, which would add about 3 months for completion of the project but eliminate any possibility of a lawsuit.

Previously, members had approved a light and heavy traffic asphalt drives to the structure, as well as changing the entrance to be in the middle of the front. The building is expected to be completed by March 31, 2025. The structure is being built in speculation that the County will be able to find a prospect to purchase it for industrial operations.
