DELPHI — Carroll County's recent deaths from the coronavirus can be traced back to long-term care facility St. Elizabeth Healthcare Campus, Carroll County Health Department Nurse Joyce Yoder said.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare Campus, part of Trilogy Heath Service, indicates on its website that 13 of its 79 employees at the Delphi campus had tested positive for the virus, and 24 of its 60 residents had COVID-19.

So far, 29 of employees and residents have recovered, and seven have died, the website reports.

As of Friday, Carroll County had nine deaths, with of those coming in the past three days and seven since Aug. 10.

“You get one, and it just goes like wildfire,” Yoder said about the virus' invasion of the Delphi nursing home. “They did a great job of keeping it out for five months.”
