104 will lose jobs when Sleep Innovations closes Elkhart plant in April

Sleep Innovations Inc. will permanently close its Elkhart plant, resulting in the layoffs of 104 workers, according to a Jan. 12 letter sent by the company to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The company's Advanced Innovations Central plant at 2040 Toledo Road will close on or about May 1, Sleep Innovations stated in the letter. Job cuts will start about March 20 and conclude the week of April 27, the company stated.

Sleep Innovations makes and markets foam bedding, sleep products and accessories under three nationally recognized brands: Novaform, Personal Expressions and Comfort Plus. In addition to the three major brands, the company makes similar products under private-label programs for retailers that include Target, Sears, Kohl's, Costco and Sam's Club.
