SYRACUSE -- Ameri-Camp, a towable manufacturer, has become the latest victim of the slumping recreational vehicle market, according to RV Business.
In a memo to suppliers obtained by RV Business, Ameri-Camp president Michael Bajaillia wrote, "It is with sincere disappointment that we write to inform you that, due to economic conditions, Ameri-Camp is forced to cease its operations. Unfortunately the company has no available assets to pay toward its unsecured creditors."
Founded in June 2003, Ameri-Camp started well, even winning the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association's Dealers Satisfaction Index Award.
However, it eventually declared bankruptcy and in April 2005 was acquired by Fred Hassan, owner of the Florida-based Sun Coast chain of RV dealerships.
