INDIANAPOLIS - A bill to move slot machines from a racetrack in Anderson to an off-track betting parlor in Fort Wayne died Thursday after failing to receive a hearing by a key legislative deadline.

And the overall concept is "on life support at best," said Rep. Randy Borror, R-Fort Wayne.

House Bill 1677 would have authorized the relocation of slot machines for Hoosier Park because its parent company, Centaur Inc., is struggling with its debt payments from an initial $250 million licensing fee.
