WEST LAFAYETTE – Professors behind Plexiglas at Purdue?
That was one suggestion from Purdue President Mitch Daniels, who continues to lay out hints about what the fall 2020 semester could look like on the West Lafayette campus as it navigates the coronavirus pandemic.
One thing is for sure: Starting Tuesday, anyone going into a building on the West Lafayette campus or venturing into a crowded outdoor space will have to wear a face covering, the university announced Thursday. That will go for anyone visiting, going to school or working on campus, according to guidelines Purdue trustees are expected to approve Tuesday.
Trustees will take up other measures in a special meeting Tuesday – with more still coming on June 11 – as they aim for a fall semester with a full complement of students on campus.
The face mask rule comes the same week Daniels floated the notion of Plexiglass shields in the classrooms during an interview with Erin Burnett, host of CNN’s “OutFront.”
