Most Allen County workers eligible for GM buyout, union chief says

Most workers at General Motors Corp.'s Allen County assembly plant are eligible for a buyout offer, and hundreds likely will give it serious consideration, the plant's union president said Monday.

GM and Chrysler LLC are offering blue-collar employees another round of buyout and early-retirement deals as the automakers try to cut their workforces and reduce expenses, union officials said.
