Tippecanoe County is on track to establish a syringe services program.
On Monday, the Tippecanoe County Commissioners voted 2-1 to adopt a resolution requesting the establishment of a syringe exchange program. The request must be approved by the Indiana State Department of Health before implementation can begin.
The syringe services program would seek to decrease the supply of dirty needles, connect people who use intravenous drugs to addiction and mental health treatment and to dispense of sanitary health items to clients.
