Winnebago of Iowa cuts back on staff due to downturn

FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Elkhart County isn't the only area hit by RV maker layoffs. Winnebago Industries Inc. also announced a round of staff reductions Friday.

The motorhome manufacturer is cutting an undisclosed number of positions at several plants in Iowa, according to the Associated Press.

The company also closed a Charles City, Iowa, manufacturing plant last week, laying off 270 employees.
