INDIANAPOLIS - Lawmakers will get down to the business of overhauling the state's property tax system starting today, but one item will not be on the agenda: a complete repeal of the tax.

Legislative leaders - as well as Gov. Mitch Daniels - are coming out against the elimination of property taxes in Indiana despite continued pressure from residents in Marion County and several other small pockets of the state.
