ELKHART — The developer planning to bring two restaurants to the corner of Nappanee Street and Bypass Road thinks the public will be pleasantly surprised when the new businesses open their doors.
“I think both will be well-received,” said Ryan Rans, managing partner at Great Lakes Capital, based in South Bend. He hopes for a grand opening next summer.
At this point, though, the names of the eateries remains a mystery, at least to the public. Rans is still going through the hoops to buy the land — it first needs to be rezoned, among other things — and he isn’t ready to reveal the names.
Suffice it to say, though, he’s bullish on the prospects. The busy Nappanee Street-Bypass Road crossing is highly visible and building the new structure at the southwest corner of the intersection that’ll house the restaurants, plus a third retail space, will add some gleam to the zone.
“This cleans up the corner so much,” Rans said Friday.
