COLUMBUS - Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from automotive parts manu-facturer PMG Indiana today to announce the company is consolidating its Midwest operations in Columbus, creating 73 new jobs.

PMG Indiana, a powder metal supplier, will invest more than $11 million to relocate its Dayton, Ohio-based production and research and development operations to a new facility adjacent to their 140,000-square-foot production facility here.

"We have worked hard to create a competitive business climate that encourages busi-nesses to invest in Indiana," Daniels said in a news release. "PMG's choice to grow its busi-ness here is yet another sign that our efforts are paying off and creating jobs for hard-working Hoosiers."

The consolidation is aimed at streamlining the company's manufacturing process for its powder metal offerings that include parts for engines, transmissions, oil pumps, shock ab-sorbers and bearings.
