Anderson's Guide plant to close June 1, idling 1,200

Guide Corp. will close plants in Anderson and Louisiana on June 1, The News Star in Monroe, La. reports, quoting a local union official. Both facilities make head and taillights for General Motors Corp. vehicles. The plants' closings have been rumored for months and were anticipated for mid-2007. The Anderson plant employs 1,200. The newspaper couldn't reach Guide for comment.
