Fujitsu Ten Corp. of America has notified 21 teammates at its Rushville facility that their employment will be terminated sometime between April 13, 2009 and April 24, 2009.

All 21 teammates were laid off Jan. 5 due to reduced orders for product from its automotive customers.

Projected production schedules and future orders from OEM customers are not expected to recover in the foreseeable future, according to Art Griffin the location's assistant general manager.

The Fujitsu Ten operation was established in Rushville in 1987.

The facility currently conducts audio product inspection, customer support, warehousing, and logistics functions. Following the planned changes, the company's workforce will be reduced to 42 teammates.

"This is an unfortunate situation," Griffin said. "We have always valued the commitment and dedication of our employees. However, the severe economic conditions and business climate have forced us to lower our staffing levels in line with the current and future customer demands for our products."

Fujitsu Ten Corp. of America is a provider of automotive audio, video, navigation and control systems to the automotive industry. The Company's North American headquarters are located in Plymouth, Mich. Fujitsu Ten Corp. of America is a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ten Limited in Kobe, Japan.
