Southwest Allen County Schools will be able to manage the state’s funding cutback this year without layoffs, the school board president said Wednesday.

The Southwest Allen County School board voted unanimously Tuesday to trim $1.17 million from its budget partly by restructuring its administrative and custodial staff and by limiting enrollment in Anthis Career Center. No jobs will be lost in either restructuring. The district is also offering a retirement incentive to administrators and teachers in hopes of saving $550,000, board President John Blum said
