LAFAYETTE – Three more people with confirmed cases of coronavirus died in counties surrounding Tippecanoe County – two in Montgomery and one in White County – as of Monday, according to figures from the Indiana State Department of Health.
The Montgomery County Health Department reported Monday that the 13 coronvirus-related deaths reported so far for the county south of Tippecanoe County, all have been connected with Ben Hur Health & Rehabilitation, a nursing facility in Crawfordsville.
The nursing home first saw a surge in cases in late April, when the Montgomery County Health Department recorded 14 confirmed cases there. Since then, Ben Hur has had 55 cases, or nearly one-third of Montgomery County’s 173 cases, as of Monday, according to figures released by the county health department.
Statewide, Indiana reported 14 additional deaths Monday and 492 new cases of COVID-19. Since March, Indiana has had 28,255 cases, with 1,621 deaths.
