Local employers are frustrated with the Obama administration’s decision to postpone a mandate for companies with 50 or more workers to provide affordable health care coverage to full-time employees.

Large employers such as Oerlikon Fairfield have already spent time and money adapting their health care plans to comply with the provision of the Affordable Care Act, which was to take effect Jan. 1.

“This has made it much more difficult,” said Jim Mills, Oerlikon Fairfield’s vice president of human resources.
