Economy not headed for the brink, experts say

MUNCIE - The stock market has faltered, home foreclosures have doubled, consumer spending is sluggish and local gas prices jumped to $3.16 a gallon Thursday, sparked in part by record high oil prices.

Is our economy turning sour? Is the nation headed for recession?

Economists said Thursday that there's no reason for panic.
