Mervis Industries sells Carter Street Operations in Kokomo

Mervis Industries announced this morning that it has sold its Carter Street Operations to OmniSource Corp. of Fort Wayne.

An agreement was reached Wednesday night. OmniSource will assume ownership 12:01 a.m. Dec. 30.

Mervis employs 40 full-time and a number of part-time employees. OmniSource has been accepting applications and interviewing Mervis employees Thursday and today. It will extend offers by Dec. 29.

The deal does not include the Electronic Exchange Division on Ohio Street which Mervis will continue to operate.
