Muncie area home sales down, but not dire, experts say

MUNCIE -- Amid gloomy news on the national level about the housing market, more than 900 homes -- a higher-than-average number -- are for sale in Delaware County.

But nearly 1,000 homes have sold locally so far this year, and the price range of recent sales alone is staggering: In September, one house on Muncie's south side sold for $7,800, while a home in the Yorktown area sold for $509,000.
