PRINCETON - Patriot Motors of Mt. Carmel, Ill., is closing its doors and will be consolidated with Patriot Chevy, Buick, Pontiac and GMC in Princeton, according to a news release from the dealership.

The closing comes after the business was asked to do so by General Motors. Nationwide, GM is asking dealerships to close in an effort to "enhance market stability," according to the release.

The Princeton dealership will handle all sales, service and GM parts requests, as well as warranty issues, being handled presently by the Mt. Carmel franchise.

Patriot Motors inventory of new and used cars vehicles will be sold at discounted prices over the next few weeks at its location at 214 W. Third St. in Mt. Carmel, the release says.


The J. Wilderman Autoplex, 1422 W. Ninth St. in Mt. Carmel, will increase its staff to handle additional maintenance and service now handled at the GM store.
