WALTHAM, Mass. -- Steinway Musical Instruments Inc. has successful negotiated a three-year contract with its piano makers at the Steinway piano factory in Queens, N.Y.

The United Furniture Workers, Local 102, voted to accept the offer on Friday. The contract for the 484-member local had expired Dec. 31, 2006, but both parties agreed to an extension through Feb. 9.

"We are very pleased to have reached a fair agreement for all parties," said Steinway Chief Executive Officer Dana Messina in a statement released Tuesday.

Steinway's subsidiary Conn-Selmer has been locked in a labor dispute with workers at its Vincent Bach facility in Elkhart. The employees, represented by the United Auto Workers Local 364, have been on strike since April 1, 2006.
