Industry changes hardship for many in Delaware County

MUNCIE -- A plant-closing announcement and a demolition order punctuated one of the final chapters in the long-running story of large-scale manufacturing in Muncie and Delaware County.

A February announcement that BorgWarner's local transfer case plant would close by early 2009 was followed two weeks later by a decision from General Motors that Muncie's shuttered Chevrolet plant would be razed in the coming months, but those announcements aren't the end of the story for local manufacturing.
