Legislative panel looks at abatements, TIFs

INDIANAPOLIS - Legislators studying the state's growing property tax problem took aim at abatements and tax increment financing Monday, while also considering how the state handles bond issues for capital projects.

It was the third meeting of the Commission on State Tax and Financing Policy, which will forward recommendations to the legislature this November.
