RUSHVILLE — Laura Welborn, publisher of Southeastern Indiana Media, has announced that the Rushville Republican will adjust the readership of its print and electronic products by scaling print publication back from three to two days per week.
Beginning the week of Dec. 5, the print edition will publish on Tuesday and Friday. By combining the Thursday and Saturday editions, readers will have more news in their Friday publication with an additional day of news gathering between days, with three days instead of four between the Friday and Tuesday publications.
As the newspaper combines its Thursday and Saturday print editions into one Friday edition, the staff will continue to expand its news coverage on electronic platforms, including rushvillerepublican.com, Facebook and Twitter.
At the same time, the Greensburg Daily News will adjust the readership of its print and electronic products by scaling print publication back from six to five days a week, discontinuing its Monday print edition.
"There have been major changes in newspapers over the years, and never have those changes come as fast and furious as in the past few years, with even greater changes projected for the future. It's never been easier or more accessible to get your local news in such a wide variety of ways online. As many of our readers are aware, local and breaking news is posted daily on our websites," Welborn said.

This new course is inspired and driven by our desire to do what's right for our readers, our team members, our advertisers and the communities we serve," Welborn continued.
The changes are partly driven by our readers, advertisers and business partners, and how they access news and information.
"Collectively, across all platforms, the Rushville Republican and Daily News audiences are larger than ever, reaching more than 25,000 readers daily with their print and online editions," Welborn continued.
