INDIANAPOLIS - The French Lick Resort Casino had fewer visitors to the gaming floor in March 2008 than in March 2007. Those visitors last month, however, dropped more money in slot machines.
The overall amount the casino made on gaming was down to $9 million in March of 2008 versus $9.2 million in 2007, according to numbers submitted to the Indiana Gaming Commission in Indianapolis.
Last month, the casino had 109,066 people pass through the turnstile at the casino. In March of 2007, there were 125,773 visitors.
During this past March, southern Indiana was swamped with rains and several roads leading into the casino were closed for periods.
In March 2007, the casino won $7.7 million on the slot machines versus $7.8 million last month.
On table games in March of 2007, the casino raked in $1.4 million compared to $1.1 million in March of this year.
The number of visitors to the casino floor this past month was up from the previous month (February of 2008) at which time 103,219 passed into the casino.
The overall amount of money the casino made in March of 2008 ($9 million) was also slightly up from the amount hauled in by the casino during the previous month ($8.9 million).
