Purdue President Mitch Daniels today called on administrators at the university who make more than $50,000 per year to accept a pay freeze for each of the next two years.
The pay freeze will help Purdue cover the cost — an estimated $40 million — of freezing tuition rates through 2015.
Senior administrators, deans and professional staff are among those being included in the pay freeze. Purdue expects to save $5 million in the biennium by eliminating merit pay raises for this group.
Daniels made his announcement at today’s University Senate meeting on campus.
