MUNCIE -- The overcrowded Ivy Tech Community College campus in Muncie is shifting 1,500 students, faculty and staff from its southside location to the downtown thanks to a gift -- the Fisher Building -- from John and Janice Fisher.

"There are no words to convey the enormity of this gift -- the building, the property, the furnishings, the history and, oh, those parking spaces," said Joyce Rogers, vice president of development at Ivy Tech, during a news conference announcing the gift on Thursday.

The four-story Fisher Building, former home of Ball Corp., contains more than 100,000 square feet. The gift also includes three parking lots providing 260 parking spaces.
