MUNCIE — Misdemeanor charges pending against four people as a result of a February protest at a Ball State University Board of Trustees meeting have been dismissed, at least for now.
Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman last week asked that the counts of disorderly conduct pending against Keegan M. Bassett, Zoe-Rose C. Dieguez, Jax C. Dodds and Joseph M. Souza be dropped.
On Nov. 21, a Delaware Circuit Court 5 jury heard testimony in the state's case against a fifth co-defendant, Cooper Philip Archer.
Archer and his co-defendants were accused of disrupting a meeting of the Ball State University Board of Trustees on Feb. 28.
Archer's trial ended without going to the jury when Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. ruled the state's case was "lacking substantial evidence" and found Archer not guilty of both charges.
