Connersville's Visteon lays off local salaried personnel

Another workforce reduction has been announced at the Connersville Visteon plant. The layoffs result from a decrease in customer orders.

Jim Fisher, media specialist for Visteon Corp. in Dearborn, Mich., announced Thursday by telephone that 27 salaried employees will be laid off at the plant. The positions will be phased out over the next 30 days and will come from throughout the plant, he said.

The reduction of salaried employees follows the late August announcement that 147 hourly employees would be laid off due to reduced customer orders.
