Allen County Commissioners approve lease agreement for new jail expected to cost more than $316 million

The Allen County commissioners have approved a lease agreement for the new jail facility, which uses the downtown courthouse as a placeholder.

The county has steadily moved forward on the years-long plan for a more than $316 million jail at 2911 Meyer Road after the County Council approved a funding plan that includes a new 0.11% correctional local income tax.
