Starting with the Feb. 28 edition of The Rochester Sentinel there will be a change in the frequency of our print publications.

The Sentinel will be delivered in the U.S. mail Wednesdays and Saturdays and delivered in the same online, e-edition format we currently use, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, in addition to Wednesday and Saturday.

Readers will find more robust print editions on Wednesdays and Fridays. Nothing will be deleted and the quality of our news reporting will not be affected. Our commitment to high journalistic standards is unchanged.

Those who use our website and e-edition will find they may get their news in a more timely basis as it won’t be held overnight for a print edition. The print edition will include all the news it does now – sports, police, columnists, school news, courts, meeting coverage and community events – with some stories expanded or updated from their original e-edition version.

The e-edition, on non-print days, will deliver local reporting, breaking state and national news, police news, obituaries, comics and sports.

While we know more readers are seeking online delivery of their news in this modern age, this change is not because of that. It is necessitated by continually rising costs of printing supplies and transportation and by increasing postal costs.

We highly value our readers and will do everything we can to make sure your print editions provide you with the news you need, value and trust from a professional news-gathering team devoted to its job as your public watchdog since 1858.

Readers can watch for a more thorough look at the changes in Undercurrents on March 1.

Readers and subscribers with questions may telephone 574-223-2111, Ext. 319, or Ext. 327. Print-only subscribers who would like to try the Sentinel e-edition and website can receive help setting that up on a home computer, tablet or cellular telephone by calling the same numbers.
