Fort Wayne, Allen County collectively awarded $23.6 million for rail crossing projects

The federal government announced Friday it awarded more than $53.2 million in railroad crossing elimination grants to six Indiana projects, including one each in Fort Wayne and Allen County.

The city received $23.2 million for a project concerning Airport Expressway, and the county received $400,000 for potential Scott Road improvements, a news release said. Both projects involve Norfolk Southern tracks.
