State flush with cash: $1.2 billion

INDIANAPOLIS - It was just four hours after State Auditor Tim Berry announced the state was sitting on $1.2 billion in reserves that House Speaker Pat Bauer, D-South Bend, proposed spending about a quarter of the cash for property tax relief.
