MUNCIE -- Muncie City Council on Monday adopted a series of tax abatement requests from a firm that intends to renovate and expand the former Duffy Tool and Stamping facility.
In unanimous votes, the council voted to approve a 10-year tax abatement on what are expected to be more than $2.5 million in improvements at what is now the Indiana Stampings plant in the 3400 block of West Eighth Street; a five-year abatement on $2,275,000 in new or significantly remodeled equipment at the facility, and a three-year abatement on $200,000 worth of new information technology equipment.
