Delaware County ranks first in state in meth labs so far in 2014 with 42

Indiana State Police announced Thursday that its meth suppression unit has dismantled 42 labs in Delaware County through the end of April. In second place was Allen County with 21.

Authorities have noted that meth lab busts indicate a high level of meth-making activity but also a high level of law enforcement action.

It’s unclear if the new ranking for Delaware County means it is near the top for the entire country. Authorities said in April that Indiana led the nation in meth lab seizures.
