WINCHESTER -- Could the high price of corn delay the start-up of Cardinal Ethanol, a $157 million ethanol plant scheduled to be completed this fall in Randolph County?

"Yes, unless they forward-priced their corn a long time ago," said Wally Tyner, an agricultural economist at Purdue University. "Anybody that didn't forward-price their corn is not going to start producing. It's too expensive. You lose money on every gallon if you didn't forward price your corn."
