INDIANAPOLIS – A House Democrat filed an amendment Monday to allow a gambling referendum in Fort Wayne and Steuben County, but then quickly said he would not call the proposal for a vote.

Sixteen amendments have been filed to Senate Bill 405, which contains some modest changes to the state’s gambling law.

Amendment 11 – from Rep. Craig Fry, D-Mishawaka – would have allowed a public question on casino gambling to be placed on the ballot in Fort Wayne and Steuben County.
