INDIANAPOLIS – New Haven Republican Rep. Phyllis Pond hasn’t changed her mind about supporting changes to township government and isn’t ready to tackle the topic – even for Gov. Mitch Daniels.
“We’ve got so many other big problems that local government reform should be put on the back burner,” she said.
Pond is one of many Republicans hesitant to change Indiana’s local government structure.
That means Daniels’ new, powerful GOP majority doesn’t necessarily translate into smooth sailing on this issue, even if it is one of his top priorities.
