INDIANAPOLIS – State officials will have to find up to $100 million next year to pay the federal government interest on its $1.8 billion unemployment loan, and businesses will start to pay a penalty in January as a result of Indiana’s insolvent fund.

Lawmakers and other members of the Unemployment Insurance Oversight Committee heard the news Wednesday during a presentation by the Department of Workforce Development.
