Lebanon — Lebanon officials are willing to look at ways to consolidate some of its operations with Center and Perry townships if it would create tax savings for city residents.

Lebanon City Council members Monday heard and approved a resolution that takes one step toward a consolidation between the city and the townships.

City attorney Bob Clutter said there have been general discussion in the past few months among the township board members and council members about how local government efficiency might be improved and how tax savings might be achieved.

Now that the state allows the consolidation of some services, Clutter presented the resolution.

“The resolution doesn’t bind the city to anything other than to study it (consolidation),” Clutter said.
