April is beginning with more bad news for workers. Four area manufacturers this week announced layoffs or the continuation of existing furloughs they'd hoped would be short-lived. A fifth is apparently poised to cut jobs permanently.
But an Albion manufacturer said it was adding jobs. Busche Enterprise Division announced it would hire seven workers to make compressor housings for refrigeration units at its Albion plant.
