City-county consolidation efforts on hold in Muncie

MUNCIE -- Some advocates of government consolidation are questioning Muncie City Council's commitment to their cause in the wake of Monday's monthly council meeting.

City council voted 6-3 to table a resolution that would have clarified uncertainty surrounding the legality of the Muncie and Delaware County Reorganization Committee.

All six supporters of the tabling were Democrats, saying they needed more time to review the resolution.
