Just two days after Fleetwood Enterprises announced it would be cutting 300 jobs at its Decatur plant, the news caused more than one Decatur resident to shake her head in disappointment.

The recreational-vehicle manufacturer, based in Riverside, Calif., cited soft sales in announcing the elimination of 486 jobs in its three motor-home plants Friday. The cuts represent 20 percent of the company's motor-home workers.
