Elkhart's Coachmen Industries to build more military housing

Coachmen Industries will be building more housing for the military.

The Elkhart company's subsidiary, All American Building Systems, has received a letter of intent to build housing for the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss in Texas. All American completed a similar contract for the Army at Fort Bliss in 2008.

The letter of intent includes seven barracks buildings, five of which have not yet been funded by Congress. The unfunded portion could be worth about $15.2 million. Construction on the new homes is expected to begin in April and continue through mid-June. This part of the project will bring the company about $6.1 million.
