Living Essentials, which makes popular energy drinks at its plant in Wabash, will invest more than $3.3 million to add two new production lines.

The new lines at the plant, at 200 Bond St., are expected to be up and running by the end of the first quarter. The expansion could add as many as 36 new jobs by 2012. The company currently employs about 130 at its Wabash production and distribution facility, which opened in 2007.

The company’s line of 5-Hour Energy drinks, introduced in 2004, had sales of more than $300 million in 2009. The Michigan-based company has expanded its Wabash operations, adding production capability and product research and development functions.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Living Essentials up to $210,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $65,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city of Wabash will consider an additional property tax abatement.
