IU reducing bus service

IU Campus Bus Service is cutting weekend service hours by 61 percent and class break and holiday service hours by 73 percent. The cuts are in response to rising diesel fuel costs.

And the fate of the Midnight Special, better known to some as the "drunk bus," is up for discussion. That service is contracted out, and the current contract with Bloomington Shuttle expires Dec. 31 after five years at a fixed rate, said Perry Maull, operations manager for the IU campus bus service.
