Indiana Senate takes up school funding

INDIANAPOLIS - Senate budget leaders got down to business Thursday on crafting a new state budget, starting with education.

The Indiana House sent the Senate a one-year education budget for Indiana's K-12 schools that is separate from the rest of the state budget. That legislation received a hearing Thursday by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
