A new website will focus on attracting business and talent to northeast Indiana, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (NIRP) recently announced.

The website features customizable economic data for the 11-county region, which includes Wabash County, and is part of NIRP’s marketing efforts.

“Our goal was to build a website that showcases the pride we have in our region and the vibrant progress we are making,” Courtney Tritch, NIRP vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “We wanted to tell a unified story about all the great initiatives that are shaping up in northeast Indiana’s future and enabling us to attract the businesses and talent that will make us a top global competitor.”

Information traditionally sought by businesses, such as shovel-ready locations and economic data, is featured on the website alongside a new section that will market the region to potential workers in search of a new home.

The brand new quality of life section includes information on arts, culture, dining and nightlife as well as testimonials from young northeast Indiana residents.

The site, www.neindiana.com, is a part of the region’s effort to grow its population to one million residents.

Recently, NIRP was selected as one of three winners of the Regional Cities Initiative grant competition.

The $42 million grant will be split between the participating counties to partially fund quality of life projects that are said to be an essential part of modern economic development, which is now focused on talent attraction and population growth.

Wabash County has its own profile on the website, which markets the county as having a reputation as “a hotspot for education, healthcare and its bustling downtown.”

The profile breaks down local entertainment and lodging options for tourists as well as information on the local labor force, schools and population.
